Stay Tuned . . .

I've been reading alot of blogs this week and studying them for form and content. I'm trying to figure out how it all works. What should I talk about, how should I present my post, etc. I have concluded that pictures are definitely worth a thousand words. I need to get my camera out and start snapping away.
I've think I've come to the conclusion that, while I love clothes, I am not a true fashionista. I have zero imagination. I am a total copycat. I read magazines and blogs and put together outfits based on what I see - if an outfit strikes me - I print it out. I have a whole binder full of things I've printed and cut out of magazines. I know, I know.
I have a closet FULL of clothes and yet I never have anything to wear. Common problem, I think. So, I'm taking the opportunity of starting this blog to look at my clothes with new eyes. I'm going to try very hard to use what I have. This is probably both necessity and a challenge I'm interested in seeing if I can meet.
We just moved to Northern Virginia and bought a house. We have a HUGE mortgage. My husband is the sole bread-winner for our family right now. We have a very tight budget these days. So, my shopping days have been seriously curtailed. Using what I already own will make my husband very happy and presents me with an interesting challenge. Win-win maybe.
So, there is my rambling for today. This blog will not always look like this. I have ideas . . . stay tuned.

Thinking . . .

I am a "forty-something" woman who loves clothes. I LOVE CLOTHES!!! I have loved them for as long as I can remember. I love to read about clothes, shop for clothes, put together outfits, etc. I can spend hours online checking fashion blogs and researching clothes. In the past few years though, I've come to realize that I am "ageing out" of many of the fashion trends in my much loved magazines, etc. So, I spend alot of time wondering if I am looking fierce or foolish in what I've chosen to wear. So, I've thought about starting a blog that addresses some of the fashion issues that come with getting older. I don't know what that really looks like yet. I'm still thinking. It takes awhile - my brain is also over forty!
